Old Babylonian Letter-Prayer to a Personal God
This letter-prayer is found on one tablet, YBC 4578, housed in the Yale Babylonian Collection. Lutz published a copy of it in 1917 in YOS 2 (→library; →full text). My slightly modified copy, marking some abrasion on the LI in the bottom edge, is →here. Stol edited the letter-prayer in 1981 as AbB 9, no. 141 (→bibliography; →library; →full text), where he lists earlier transliterations, translations, and discussions, to which add now Sommerfeld 1982: 127-128 and van der Toorn 1996: 130-131, 140. Oshima also provides a recent round-up of the secondary literature (2011: 99). Foster 2005: 218 and Hecker 1989: 752 provide other translations.
